Coronal Mass Ejection
Catalog: M2M_CATALOG
Start Time: 2024-10-28T14:00Z ( SOHO: LASCO/C2 )
All Detecting Spacecrafts:
SOHO: LASCO/C2
SOHO: LASCO/C3
STEREO A: SECCHI/COR2
Activity ID: 2024-10-28T14:00:00-CME-001 (version 1)
Note Keyword:
Ha: Bright emission (likely H-alpha emission)
OFL: Outflowing material at the back of the CME
PRM: Prominence material (filamentary structures)
Source Signature Keyword:
OFL: Moving/Opening field lines
Morphology Keyword:
F: Flux Rope
Note: Bright CME first seen in the SW by SOHO LASCO C2 beginning at 2024-10-28T14:00Z, as well as by STEREO A COR2 in later frames. This CME is observed in SOHO LASCO C3 white light imagery, but running difference image quality at this time does not capture the front. The source of this event is a far sided eruption seen along the SW limb. Wide opening field lines can be seen in SDO AIA 171, 193, 211, GOES SUVI 284, and STEREO A EUVI 195. Post eruptive arcades are also visible in SDO AIA 211 and STEREO A EUVI 195.

Prime?"primary flag" which is either True or False. If there are multiple CME analysis entries for a single CME, this flag would indicate which analysis is considered most accurate per measurement type. This is a helpful flag if you would like to download only one most accurate CME analysis per CME per Measurement Type |

Triangulated measurement between SOHO LASCO C2/STEREO COR2A, and the observed source just beyond the SW limb in SDO AIA imagery. SOHO LASCO is currently in a comet observation campaign affecting imagery, notably LASCO C3 running difference which does not observe the front at all while it can be seen in C3 white light. Enough C2 and COR2A imagery is available and usable for a confident fit, nonetheless. |
